Update to EBSCO Explora

The online research resources included with MOREnet Membership Service Packages (EBSCO, LearningExpress Library, HeritageQuest and Rosen Digital) continue to save our members thousands of dollars versus purchasing the databases on their own. In response to feedback from users, the vendors continue to update the product to better meet your needs.

In the interest of creating profiles that are age appropriate and meet the needs of specific levels of learners, Academic Search Elite has been removed from the Explora – High School interface. Academic Search Elite is still available to search through the EBSCO host A – Z database index at search.ebscohost.com and through the new Explora – Academic search.

The following databases are included by default in the profile Explora – High School:

  • Book Collection Nonfiction: High School Edition
  • Book Collection Nonfiction: Middle School Edition
  • MAS Ultra – School Edition
  • MAS Ultra Reference eBook Collection
  • Newspaper Source
  • Science Reference Center
  • Science Reference Center eBook Collection
  • Topic Overviews 6-12
  • Consumer Health Complete
  • Consumer Health Complete Reference eBook Collection
  • Middle Search Plus
  • Middle Search Reference eBook Collection
  • eBook High School Collection (available to K-12 members only)

To accommodate this planned change, the new profile Explora – Academic launched on May 1.

Explora Academic searches the following resources:

  • Academic Search Elite
  • ERIC
  • Professional Development Collection
  • eBook Open Access Monographic Collection.

The default URL for Explora – Academic is https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=ip,uid&profile=exac. Note that users must view the Explora – Academic URL from a computer with a MOREnet-registered IP address. Users attempting to view the URL from other IP addresses will receive a log in prompt.

Please contact MOREnet Technical Support for assistance in customizing this URL for library card authentication, single-sign-on authentication, referring URL authentication, or account specific authentication.

As always, we encourage our member organizations to change or request changes in profiles or make any other changes that best fit their community’s needs. Please contact help@more.net with questions, concerns or any issues with setting up or using your online resources.
