Pilot program established to determine how Universal Service funding can benefit cybersecurity efforts. In June, the FCC adopted a pilot program, which will provide $200 million over a three-year period to selected participants to defray the costs of eligible cybersecurity services and equipment. Modeled after the FCC’s Connected Care Pilot, this pilot program will allow the FCC to collect data and evaluate the effectiveness of using Universal Service funds to support cybersecurity services and equipment to protect school and library broadband networks and data, and share lessons learned with our federal partners to jointly combat this growing problem.
Of course, you can expect an E-rate session at our Annual Conference (link) about maximizing funding for your school or library.
